The newly updated Geography Songs Kit includes 33 songs; a workbook with maps, lyrics, illustrations and tests; and a 25" x 36" world map. 33 songs teach the names and locations of the continents, oceans planets and 225 countries. In advance, teacher may wish to play the songs (first track on the British Isles, for example), as background music a few times, to familiarize everyone with the tunes.

Monday	Introduce the British Isles using big black/white outline map (included). Have child finger trace an outline of the area. Show British Isles on a big colored wall map. Have each child locate and finger trace the area. Look at the pictures in workbook as CD plays, (pg.1,2,3,4). 1x Talk about the meanings of all pictures. Follow words in workbook pg.1, while listening to CD(tape). 2x.
Tuesday	Sing words along with CD. 2x. Trace map very carefully in pencil while listening. 1x. Color neatly, Northern Ireland green, England red, etc. while listening. 1x.
Wednesday	Sing words along with CD. 2x. Point to Northern Ireland, England, etc. in workbook p. 3 while listening. 1x. Color area on black/white outline map while listening. 1x.
Thursday	Sing words along with CD. 2x. Add physical features (major rivers, lakes mountain areas) while listening. Study map while listening. 3x.
Friday	Test - Each child fill in blank map with names of all 8 areas, with physical features.

The States & Capitals Songs Kit includes a sound track with 9 songs and 4 test songs and a large 25"x 36" map of the USA with 172 items to label. Students can color the map while they listen to the songs. The lyrics of the songs are on the map. One side of the tape teaches the states and the other side teaches the capitals. Students point to the states on the map while they sing. Each state is geographically connected to the next state.

The USA is divided into 5 sections: the northern border, the southern border, the eastern border, the middle and the Pacific states. Each of those sections is a song. After students learn the southern border, from California to Florida, they learn the capitals in the same order. During the test on the tape, they have to remember the name of the state and the capital that comes next as they go from west to east. 		Hello! We love your geography songs tape! My 4-year old sings the songs all day long. He has located most of the countries on the globe, and has looked through our geography textbooks, learning so much more about all the countries! At the park yesterday, he approached a little girl and said, "Did you know that British Columbia is in Canada?" He and my 6-year old listen every time we're in the car. Their favorite songs are British Isles and Russian Federation (great music!). I love the book that goes along...they recognize so many landmarks now. The books could be even more chock-full of visuals from the countries (my 4-year old built his own Leaning Tower of Pisa and Eiffel Tower to go with the maps he has been drawing ever since we started listening and reading...) We are hoping you may be planning more songs about specific countries. British Isles is so wonderful because it says so much about the culture (or at least names enough people/places/events that they will recognize it when they see it elsewhere). You could produce similar songs about so many other countries...it would be a wonderful learning tool. L.K. They've now learned almost every country in the world and have even sung the songs in front of adults without fear.
